Computing

Subject Leader-  Mrs Morreale

At Shefford Lower School, Computing plays a vital role in developing children’s digital literacy, creativity, and problem-solving skills. It supports their confidence and independence in using technology safely and responsibly, preparing them for life in an increasingly digital world.

Computing learning goes beyond just lessons. Children explore and apply their knowledge across the curriculum, discovering how technology connects to everyday life.

Rooted in the school’s commitment to empowering learners, our Computing curriculum helps children develop key skills such as coding, online safety, and digital creativity, equipping them to become thoughtful and capable digital citizens.

As a school, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and responsible digital environment where every child can learn, explore and communicate with confidence.

We believe that online safety is everyone’s responsibility. Through age-appropriate teaching, open conversations and strong partnerships with parents and carers, we equip our pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to stay safe online.

We promote kindness, critical thinking and resilience in the digital world, empowering our children to use technology positively, responsibly and securely — both in school and beyond.
