To provide coherence with our feeder middle school, Robert Bloomfield, we deliver a programme of French within the 'Connected Curriculum' at Shefford Lower School.

This is coherently delivered within a perspective of 'global community' taking account of the diversity in our school and wider community, as well as the future global participants our pupils will become. 

Through the use of partnerships and technologies, we communicate with other learners across the globe. For example, through a shared book project with our Sri Lanka partners. 

Our pupils discover etymology through spelling activities and consider ancient languages through their study of the Greeks and also The Romans in History, and this is reflected in story and through assemblies. For example, our house names are displayed in assemblies in modern English, French and Latin.
