The government sports premium used, alongside PE curriculum budget to support better standards of physical education within the school and greater participation.
Children in Shefford Lower School receive quality PE and Forest School sessions from both their class teacher and also a specially qualified sports and forest coach, Mr Tilbury. We believe that active learning, with the opportunity to experience learning beyond our school grounds enables children to grow in confidence as well as health and ability.
The social aspects of sports and PE are beneficial to children when they play and learn in other subject areas and also in the communities where they live. The ability to understand fairness, competition, inclusion, health, teamwork, wellbeing, discovery, talent, perseverance and many more attributes are enhanced through the additional enrichment that Shefford Lower School prioritises.
